We have been reading the book 'Wonder' by R J Palcacio. This is the story of August Pullman, a 10-year-old with a very different-looking face because of a chromosomal abnormality and an illness. We follow him on his journey from home schooling to middle school.

We learnt how important it is to empathise with people and recognise how our reactions and behaviour can impact on others. We showed our own thoughts and feeling through our art work and wrote diary entries and interviews in English. We put ourselves in his position and thought about what it would be like to be August Pullman.

Is it ever ok to treat people differently?

What would you do if you were August?

How would you react if you saw August?

Would you judge somebody because of how they looked?

What do you think of the line ‘Don’t judge a boy by his face’ which appears on the back cover of the book?
