Tower of London visit
On Monday 20th May visited the Tower of London. During the visit the children were able to travel back in time. A costumed presenter gave a recount of the exciting stories from the Tower’s dark history, then they got to explore some of the historic spaces originally used to hold prisoners increasing their knowledge of the Tower of London as a prison and understand the role of prison in the past and how this compares to the present day. It was a brilliant opportunity for the children to appreciate the reality of historical events studied in the classroom and place them within the context of where the events occurred at the Tower. As well as taking part in the workshop the children got to see the Crown Jewels and the ravens.
