Sports clubs

Taekwon-Do

Our Taekwon-Do club is part of the UKTA (United Kingdom Tae Kwon-Do Association) which is part of the ITF (International Tae Kwon-Do Association). Tae Kwon-Do is a martial art from Korea and translates as 'Foot hand Art'. During classes children learn different self-defence moves in a controlled environment applying the five tenets of courtesy, integrity, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit in all activities that they do during the class.

Children also learn the Taekwon-Do oath:

Football

During the sessions children learn and practice different skills that will improve their game. The Year 5/6 football team also train after school in preparation for inter-school football matches and tournaments. 

Athletics

At different points during the year children across the year groups get the opportunity to attend athletics club. During this club children train in different 'Sporthall Athletics' events including: running,  javelin, long jump, triple jump, vertical jump and speed bounce. The Athletics club then go on to compete in borough athletics events.

Gymnastics

Our Gymnastics club is run by Beaming Stars Gymnastics club. Children learn Key Steps gymnastics skills in a fun and controlled environment.

 

 Yoga  

During the club children practice yoga-based movement, conscious breathing and mindfulness activities. Yoga is an exercise that has great educational value and engages all children regardless of age, gender or ability. It educates and guides them into leading a healthy lifestyle and helps to reach their full potential as a person. Sessions are designed to explore yoga techniques, integrate fun poses with fitness and nurture self-esteem and confidence. They encourage positive thinking, motivation and are super fun!
