Dear Parents/Carers,

Year 3 - Woodlands Farm for a Stone Age Workshop

 Dear Parents and Carers,

This term, to support their learning of The Stone Age in history, Year 3 will be visiting the Woodlands Farm in Shooters Hill. Whilst at the site, they will be given the opportunity to create a Palaeolithic camp to find out more about the life of hunter-gatherers during this age. They will then move onto learning about developments in farming as well as a chance to discover how we know about what happened in the past.

3HS will be going on Friday 29th November 2024

3TS will be going on Monday 16th December 2024

We will travel to Woodlands Farm by bus and leave school at 9.15am. We will arrive back before the end of the school day so home arrangements will be as normal.

Children will have lunch at Woodlands farm; please indicate on the form if your child will need a school packed lunch or if they will bring their own.

Please ensure that your child has suitable shoes and a warm coat for the weather. We are asking for a contribution of £5 for this visit which can be paid via School Gateway. This money will be going to Woodlands Farm Trust who are hosting this Workshop for us. The remaining cost towards this trip will be subsidised by school fundraising events, including a Year 3 cake sale which will happen on Wednesday 27th November.

Please give permission for your child to attend via the Google form HERE by Friday 22nd November.

Many thanks for your continued support.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Hussain

Assistant Head Teacher

Year 3 - O2 Cinema

Dear Parents and Carers,

We have been allocated 30 free tickets to watch the movie ‘Migration’ at the Cineworld cinema in the O2. This screening is part of the Into Film festival which takes place every year. Into Film is a film education charity that aims to put film at the heart of children and young people’s educational, cultural and personal development.

The film ‘Migration’ has been especially selected to extend children’s geographical knowledge on migration in animals and to deepen their understanding of urban areas. The film is a certified U and is suitable for viewing by children.

The visit will take place on Tuesday 26th November. We will leave school at 9.30am and travel by bus. We will be back to school before lunch time, so lunch arrangements will be as normal.

As it is getting colder, please ensure that your child comes into school wearing a warm coat and suitable shoes for walking in.
